Los finlandeses durante una semana votaron por la mejor canción de las 12 que se estaban escuchando en la radio pública finesa, pero solamente seis de ellas, pasarían a la final del 12 de febrero. Televoto y jurado decidieron la canción ganadora.
Nina Åström fue la cantante ganadora, que sin embargo no era favorita ni para el jurado que concedió la máxima puntuación a Nylon Beat ni para el televoto que se decantó por Nightwish, sin embargo en la regularidad se alzó con el primer puesto, tan solo a cuatro puntos de Anna Eriksson que quedó en segunda posición.
