La Final israelí para Eurovisión se hizo desde el Jerusalem Theater. Los presentadores fueron Daniel Peer y Rivka Michaeli. Peer ya presentó el Festival de 1979 cuando se hizo en Jerusalén. La canción ganadora fue escogida por siete jurados regionales.
Destaca en esta Final Yehuda Tamir que fue uno de los componentes del grupo Milk & Honey que ganaron en Eurovisión en 1979 por Israel. También está Tzvika Pick, uno de los futuros compositores del tema Diva que dará el triunfo a Dana International en el Festival de 1998.
