El 04 de febrero se celebró la gran final del Malta Eurovision 2012 presentada por Ronald Briffa, Elaine Saliba y Frank Zammit desde el Fairs & Conventions Centre de Ta' Qali a partir de las 20:45 CET con la actuación especial de Ell/Nikki, Glen Vella y Anggun.
La gala estuvo formada por 16 participantes. Un sistema mixto de votación de jurado con un valor del 75% y televoto con un 25% fue el encargado de decidir el ganador. Tanto los expertos como la audiencia otorgaron la máxima puntuación al vencedor.
Previamente a la gran final se realizó una semifinal mediante jurado y televoto con un total de 24 candidaturas.
La gran final estuvo integrada, entre otros artistas, por: Fabrizio Faniello (Malta 2001 y 2006). Kurt Calleja, por su parte, había participado previamente en el The GO Malta EuroSong 2010 y en el Eurosong 2011
Pure de Claudia Faniello con un 27.0% de los votos frente al 3.2% de Kurt Calleja con This is the night, la séptima opción, era la candidatura favorita para la victoria de los lectores de eurovision-spain.com.

Es de las peores de este año, porque sin ser un friki ni un mamarracho su canciós es muy muy mala. Seguría siendo mala si se hubiera presentado muchos años atrás. Letra simplona y él más.

Bueno está bastante bien el tema, pero la voz le hará bastante destrozos a la canción. El tema necesita fuerza y una puesta en escena un poco espectacular para destacar más en Bakú. Suerte Malta.
